How a growth mindset can take you out of the 9 to 5 trap?

If you are here because you want to escape the 9 to 5 trap and have doubts about whether it’s possible, then this could be very beneficial for you.

Let’s face it, your day job is preventing you from living your best life.

Perhaps your best life is to be location independent…… to be able to spend much more time with friends and family…… have the time flexibility to live out your interests……. to even have complete financial freedom….. or whatever else this means for you.

Ultimately, it’s all about living life on your own terms, but what’s stopping us?

It’s obvious that for many, it’s the mundane 9 to 5 job. It takes up most of our day and prevents us from doing the things that matter to us most. But let’s face it, we need to earn money and this is normally how people do it. In fact, it’s the only way we know how to do it and so it’s easier to accept it, right?

What if I told you that this exact way of thinking is going to trap you in this situation forever?

If you carry on doing the same things you’ve been doing for the last 5 years, nothing’s going to change for you in the next 5 years. Don’t you agree?

A fixed mindset is the biggest cause of this and if you don’t want to be stuck in your current situation, I suggest you make a change in the way you think and do things.

It’s time you adopted a growth mindset – this is the difference between your dream staying a dream and your dream being a glimpse of your future to come.

What is Growth Mindset?

Simply put I would say it’s a way of thinking in which you believe that you can develop yourself and achieve absolutely anything through hard work and dedication.

It allows you to immediately act on these thoughts to make things happen when trying to accomplish something – in other words, it pushes you to do what it takes to procure success.

I mean, we usually tend to work out what we can and can’t do by looking at how we are right now but have we stopped to think that what we’re capable of isn’t truly determined until we finally step out of our comfort zone and just do what it takes.

If we just focus on the things we want and really start to do what needs to be done, we’ll definitely be that much closer to our goal; we wouldn’t worry if we had to do things we haven’t done before, but instead, we’ll start to think about what we need to do, what resources we’ll need, what sort of help we need to get and then acting on all those thoughts.

Before you know it, you’re changing and therefore things around you start to change – for the better may I add. The bottom line is you’re now able to do things you couldn’t do before because you didn’t hesitate to get stuck in and make a start.

For example, if you want six-pack abs and you say you’ll achieve this in the next 3 months, what’s the first thing you’ll do? You’ll create a workout and diet plan for the next 3 months – all you need to do now is stick to the plan and even if you don’t meet your goal, I bet you’ll be in much better shape than you were at the start.

You just need to persist longer, apply any new knowledge you gained on this journey and it’s only a matter of time before you see the result you had envisioned.

Now, if you always knew you wanted six-pack abs, but never really had an idea of when you wanted to achieve this, would you even begin to make this a reality?

Of course not. This shows that the key is knowing what you want, when you want it, and believing that you’ll get it.

Again, even if it doesn’t happen exactly when you want it to it doesn’t mean it won’t happen for you at all – setting a period of time, such as 30 days, to achieve your goal is just a great way to make you start and it’s only a matter of time before you bare the fruit of your efforts anyway.

Besides, when you finally have the body of your dreams, the length of time it took to get there would be irrelevant – therefore the doing is key here, as success is clearly a by-product.

People tend to focus too much on the ‘How’, but in reality, it’s all in the doing. Let’s be honest, how do you think people knew how to do things in the first place?

It took doing (making a start and following through to the very end) to figure out what works.

How can it help me get out of this trap?

The first thing you will need to do is to do your research to discover what opportunities are actually out there, but I will use starting an online business, as an example, as this time has never been better to take advantage of this opportunity, which is available to us today; I will be touching on this a bit more.

Whatever you end up doing will require a lot of time and effort and believe me when I say that starting an online business will take you out of your comfort zone – although the blueprint is there if you look for it, just like it’s laid out for getting six-pack abs, without a growth mindset you can never get comfortable getting uncomfortable.

I know, it sounds counter-intuitive, right?

The sad thing is that most people won’t be willing to do that or put in time and effort, as who wants to focus on something if it doesn’t guarantee success.

This very way of thinking is going to keep you trapped in a 9-5 job for the rest of your life. So, is it not worth taking the first step?

You could take advantage of ‘online’ business opportunities today, as they tend to be fully automated once you have put in the initial efforts to set it all up – I highly recommend pursuing this!

With this type of setup, you can quite literally earn while you sleep and there is an amazing possibility to scale your earnings to eventually replace your income from your job and live a freedom lifestyle that was once just a dream.

Now, this possibility is only there for you if you have a growth mindset, as the awareness of these tremendous opportunities only comes to those who are open to change.

This may sound cliché, but it all comes down to how bad you want to change your life? It’s a do-or-die situation.

The only thing you need to do is to picture having already reached your desired goal and try to experience what your ideal day would be like – what would you see around you? Where would you be? What would you be doing?

You get the picture, but this is necessary, as it will show you why it’s seriously worth taking action right now.

Just remember that it’s the doubt that will stop you from working hard and dedicating time to this– no one is willing to sacrifice their time if they don’t believe they can do it, but those who do believe it are willing; they’re the ones you’ll hear stories about, they’ll be the ones who will change their life, escape their 9-5 job, become their own boss, and create a life they love.

If you have decided you would like to learn how to start a profitable online business, but don’t know quite where to start, I will happily share a FREE video series on how to do just that – these are the same series that set me on my way and it focuses on how to use two proven business models that you can start immediately from home – all you need is a laptop and an internet connection!

I hope this has given you a sense of what to do moving forward. Just remember to always have a growth mindset and, using this, go out there to discover all the opportunities there are to earn without an employer.

Once you have chosen a path, get the education you need, then create a blueprint for yourself, act on it, and believe in the process. I’m sure you will be surprised at what you can achieve.

Whatever you choose to do next, I wish you all the best.
