Are you looking for the right mentor to help you succeed in an online business? If so, then let me first start by saying that this is one of the best decisions you’ll ever make in life.
I mean it. It doesn’t matter what stage anyone is at, we all need a mentor – there’s always someone out there who has been through it all. Well, at least as far as starting an online business is concerned 😉
Anyway, I too was in search of a mentor – someone who already has a successful online business and who can show me how to achieve this too.
I knew I needed help the minute I was being bombarded with so much information on the internet. Of course, I had no idea where to start. Wouldn’t you rather have someone to show you the path to take and guide you every step of the way?
I did, but how would you know which mentor is right for you? Well, the answer is to look for a minimum of these 5 qualities in them.
5 Qualities to Look for in a Mentor
1) Leads by example
Have they already achieved the success that you wish to achieve? It’s very reassuring when you know there’s someone out there who has done it. Just by taking inspiration from them can be enough to keep you motivated.
Remember that they would have gone through certain steps that enabled their success and this knowledge can also take us there. But, are they willing to share this knowledge with us? This leads us to our next quality to look for.
2) Willingness to share their knowledge
Some people find happiness in serving others. So, when they have something to give (could be anything), they will never hesitate to give it to someone who truly needs it. If this person is your mentor, you’ve hit the jackpot. The knowledge is seriously there for the taking.
However, this knowledge is only good if you use it the way your mentor instructs you to do so. Therefore your commitment to the process is required – a good mentor will only take on students who are prepared to do that.
3) Willingness to invest their time in YOU (not your wallet)
For some, taking on students is just to increase their revenue – it’s just a numbers game to them. However, a great mentor will know who needs the help and are immediately willing to invest in those people alone – they aren’t afraid to ask for your commitment in return, but this is only for your benefit.
4) Tough Love
Some mentors may only tell you what you want to hear – simply because they don’t want to lose their paying customers. On the other hand, good mentors only have your best interest at heart – they care more about our success and any criticism they give us is to ensure we get there. That also means we as students have to be willing to take criticism, as they are the experts, not us 🙂
5) Passionate about what they do
You can be confident that they’ll give you the time of day when they love mentoring you – they won’t stop at anything to ensure that you reach your goals. I mean your success is guaranteed when you have such support.
So, a mentor who is passionate about helping people start and succeed in an online business will never disappoint – they would’ve made it clear that their life’s mission is to help people like us and so we can’t help but feel invested in their educational program.
Meet my mentors
Meet Stu and Jay, who have helped me and many others start an online business around our passions – It all started with a FREE video series, where Stu talked us through two simple online business models that we can start today, with no experience.
It empowered us to take action, as we learned how powerful it is to leverage the internet right now and why we shouldn’t hesitate to take full advantage of it.
More importantly, it’s given us the opportunity to achieve financial security and gain the time freedom to live a more fulfilling life.
If this is also your goal then my mentors can help you. On the other hand, if you would like to explore your options, to see what other mentors are out there, I hope you find who you’re looking for.
All the best,
